EXCELLENT!

I love the Firecracker Inn and I love Fletching Village! I'm a bit sad I can't go this year because my society is supporting Nevill, who always do our firework display for us :)

The Firecracker Inn welcomes EVERYONE and ANYONE to Fletching Bonfire tonight. The roads are closed to through traffic as usual but you will be able to walk in. Enjoy the proccession, treat yourself to a burger or hot dog and the well stocked bar will be here too. The fireworks will be spectacular as ever and we would greatly appreciate your generous contrabutions without which we would not be able to host an event such as this. Thank you for your support

Ok now i'm confused. Say you come from Piltdown and get some exercise and walk in to Fletching will you be allowed in past 6:30?

I get that the road is closed to cars and busses and stuff, but what about people who dont mind walking?

I think the bonfire society just want lower numbers than in previous years, as it is primarily an event for the people in the village to celebrate. The village is quite small in comparison to places like Newick (31st October), and I think the committee have moved it from a night when they were the only ones to this week, so that it clashes with events such as Nevill in Lewes, which are much easier to access by public transport and by car, have far more room for spectators and are just in a better position generally to have visitors from outside of the immediate area. I think it is a shame that it clashes, as it was probably in my top five and I won't be able to attend as I'm at Nevill with my society.
