Fletching Bonfire 2008
This Saturday (11th October) sees Fletching Bonfire Society’s processions and firework display, with, of course, the perfunctionary bonfire!
The local pub closes, except to bookings, but the bonfire society runs a marquee type arrangement next door called the Firecracker Inn.
LOCATION:
Marshalled parking is at a farm, entrance @ TQ430233, which is accessed from the A272 at Piltdown.
PROCESSIONS AND TIMES:
The first procession starts at 1900 and runs north from the form up area at TQ430233 to Splayne’s Green before returning to the village for a break. The second procession is at 2045 and runs south towards Piltdown to “Denniker Cottage” and then back to the village to the firesite for fireworks at 2145.
For those with TomToms or other satnavs, TN22 3SP is the parking postcode, but make sure you come in from Piltdown (aim for TN22 3XP and turn left (if coming from Haywards Heath) or right (if coming from Uckfield) off the A272.
Pictures from last year:
Last year was excelent! Despite it clashing with the final of the Rugby World Cup!

(this information is based on last year’s visit - I haven’t been informed it’s any different, and the village is certainly still in the same place!)
Edition!

We are glad you enjoyed the bonfire at Fletching, but it would be most appreciated if you did not advertise our Bonfire celebrations, we are only a small village and the crowd is starting to become uncontrollable. This year we were unable to get the procession through and the bands missed out on half the procession because they were unable to get through the crowd.
Many thanks
