News Update!
Well, it’s been a busy month here at Steve Towers, I’ve cleared out the spare room and a few loads worth of junk from the rest of the house, been doing overtime at work and generally lots going on…..
First off, we had the great flood of Barcombe! Well, it was wet, wet, wet everywhere, but the water really did come up, up, up at Barcombe in Sussex. The road to the village from the A26 was closed for a few days and locals said it was over the tops of hedges…… Made for a good, muddy ride on the Cuckoo Trail
Another nice ride was around what I call the “Littlington and Old Coach Road Loop” from my house to Seaford, Littlington and then along the Old Coach Road from Berwick to Firle and then back to Newhaven. It’s just under 25 miles and not too muddy and mainly off the main roads.
Eugene and I have been doing the Engineering at the DGH in Eastbourne. Eugene managed to burn himself on the soldering iron. Whoops!
I found this amusing picture of me in 1995! Up at South Barn in Seaford we’ve set up an aerial for long distance communication on the CB! I think we got as far as Worthing lol
Last Saturday I cycled from Clapham in London to Haywards Heath in West Sussex. This is about 75% of the London to Brighton cycle ride, which I intend to enter this year! Nutter….
Stand by for some exciting (for me!) news in my next post!
