Where in Sussex #2
Four clues, three are general knowledge, one is cryptic. The answer is a location somewhere in Sussex (East or West). Can you guess where we are today?
CLUE ONE:
Today’s location is one that comes in at least two parts, as is quite common in Sussex. The old part has a manor house, old village street and has been swallowed up by the larger, new, conurbation. In times gone by, the old village had many market gardens, fuelled by the proximity to a much larger conurbation.
CLUE TWO:
In the last clue we mentioned a larger conurbation. The village and town are now part of this conurbation, although the original names are still retained and well used. The modern part of this town has benefited from the construction of a new road in recent years, which made access easier, although the main shopping street still suffers from congestion.
CLUE THREE:
Today’s location has a few oddities that may allow you to pin point where it is, with little knowledge of the town or village. The town has a road named Station Road, although there is, technically, no station in this road, nor has there ever been! The town also features half a level crossing, and the former cinema still draws in massive audiences, although nobody has watched a film there for many a long year!
CLUE FOUR: (Cryptic)
